In THE BUCKET LIST, cancer doesn't discriminate in it's choice of victims. It's equally eager in it's attacks on kindly sage of a mechanic Carter Chambers (Morgan Freeman) and mean-spirited millionaire Edward Cole (Jack Nicholson). When the unlikely pair shares a room at a hospital, they learn that they both have less than a year to live as a result of the deadly disease. Inspired by the words of a college professor, Carter begins to make a "bucket list" of things he wants to accomplish before he dies. With Edward's limitless funds at their disposal, the men embark on an adventure that takes them from Egypt to France to Hong Kong, crossing items off their list as death grows closer. Reviews:

Robert De Niro was America's most accomplished dramatic film star for over two decades. Although one could argue that he's overdone it lately, he earned the right to make goofy mass-appeal comedies with the likes of Ben Stiller and Billy Crystal. Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman: just as good, and both naturally funny guys. So we're totally fine with Rob Reiner's lighthearted comedy about aging men who aren't quite ready to throw in the towel (we're sure George Foreman and Sylvester Stallone are, too). After being diagnosed with cancer, Freeman meets Nicholson's geriatric playboy billionaire in the hospital and the former devises a wish list of activities and experiences before he kicks the bucket (hence the title). Nicholson is wealthy enough to fund the extravagant last dance, and they jet-set around the world indulging in sky-diving, stock car racing and even a safari. Bittersweet and heartfelt, Bucket should continue to find a sympathetic audience on DVD.
